Car rentals for use in RFC:

1. With reputable workshop or owners who have RFC experience, the rental for a full specification race car is between USD6,500 to USD7,000, usually a Jeep CJ or Toyota LC II SWB.

2. If there are damages to the car: (1) Engine completely damaged (2) Gear box damaged (3) axle damaged. Then there will be repair bills that the hirer should bear. Other body damages to the race car is acceptable & included in the rental price.

3. This rental does not include fuel, only the use of the car in the event.

4. There will be other owners or workshop who might be offering lower rates but we don’t know how good or reputable they can be or how reliable.

5. For support or touring car, the rental is USD3,500 per car. This is also a self-drive vehicle. This is in case you have people who only wishes to drive the car without competing.

6. If a race team wishes to hire a local support car with a local driver/mechanic inside, it is also possible to hire, but the rental has to be negotiated with the respective owners. Price range between USD1,500 to USD2,000.

7. The RFC is a 10-day event for man and machines, with many SS along the way including the Twilight Zone, those coming must be prepared for anything goes and thus having a budget to cover the costs plus the contingencies will help them.

The above is an indication for you. If there is any possible Georgian team ready to race and with some budget in mind, then they have to make quick decision because the race cars have to be prepared as they are not ready to race at the moment. They will only be prepared once the owner know there is interest and a deposit payment is made.

Other important points to take note on rented car.

1. Finish the event is the most important for a first time entry to the mother event RFC in Malaysia, winning in any position is a bonus.
2. Going all out in every SS will not be a good strategy to use because the car is not yours and any damages to the 3 parts, you will have to pay the bill.
3. So, conserve the car and yourselves in 10-day event, see which SS is more suitable for the car and yourselves and don’t go 100% into finishing every SS.
4. You are in a foreign country with different customs, so smile, be humble and sporting will win you lots of friends in the event and they will help you more than you can imagine.

Other important points about prices in malaysia

1. Hotel rates: usually USD100 per night for two persons sharing with breakfast is good enough in Kuala Lumpur city and outside is slightly cheaper. For example in Kuantan town or in Tanah Rata (Cameron Highlands) ending.
2. For winners, the hotel nights of 25 and 26 Nov is covered.
3. European food easily available in supermarkets in Kuala Lumpur, buy them first before you head to the jungle.
4. Campbed, sleeping bags and camping stuff, easily available at our associate partner Explorer Outfitter shop at Publika (our 25 Nov presentation day)
5. Fuel is relatively cheap compared to Europe, at less than 70 cents USD for Ron 95/97 & less than 50 cents USD for diesel.
